today

my dude ended an emphatic speech about how he could never be a hipster lesbian or a super rich dude with “but I am interested in being a good man” and that meant something to me.

Sunday July 3 2011

Just got home from the best friends kind of day:

+ pals had just got back from strawberry picking & I showed up just in time to make daiquiris from berries that were the freshest of all time

+ sat around in a big group in a sweaty apartment (jam making is hot!) & ate delicious fried rice

+ had a superfemme-sized showdown with clairebearstare about who should get to take home some tights that our friend bought & didn’t like. I think I won but I forgot to bring them home, damn.

+ took so many people and so many dogs swimming in the dark in the river. Can’t even express how totally right it felt to be in that water. Loved the idea of celebrating Toronto Pride by being in Peterborough, hanging with some queer people doing regular weekend stuff.

+ giggled so much about how my dog is the cutest.

+ perfect nail polish day

+ finally got some stakes happening for my tiny tomato plants. Tied them up with cute purple yarn.

+ best boyfriend in the universe sent me cutest photos of him looking the cutest.

Punk kitty says hey, Good Things Sunday is back, motherfucker.
I’ve been blogging about things that are great for years, & here’s the archive, if you’re a completist or whatever. To clear up some tiny confusion: I try to write an entry at least every Sunday (or whenever), but the good things themselves can happen whenever I want, and at least whenever I say so.

What it's all about: prioritizing self-care, being grateful, staying posi, acknowledging privilege, saying thanks, remembering good times.
